STAR WARS IN THE CLASSROOM

January 2013-Present

Drawing on the power of passion-based teaching and learning, Star Wars in the Classroom is a platform for educators and fans alike that provides resources for transdisciplinary teaching and learning based on the Star Wars saga. Our professional learning network known as The Rogues contains over 1000 teachers in more than 30 nations and continues to grow each year.

ADVENTURES IN LEARNING WITH INDIANA JONES

May 2007-Present

The mission of Adventures in Learning with Indiana Jones is to provide educators with teacher-tested, standards-based lesson plans and resources that will allow them to inspire learning across multiple subject areas with everyone's favorite archaeologist.

SFCSXDESIGN: THE PALLET HOUSE PROJECT

January 2015

Featured by Edutopia as a best-practice in design thinking in schools, this immersive project allowed challenged middle school students to explore and create solutions related to poverty in our community. The results included students building a house from shipping pallets to serve as a prototype for transitional housing for the homeless.

IF WALLS COULD SPEAK: AFRICAN-AMERICAN HISTORY OF GREENVILLE, 1790-1920

2010-2012

Over a two year period beginning in 2010, a team of students, community members, and preservationists, worked together to relocate and preserve for educational purposes the last known slave cabin in Greenville, South Carolina. The project won the Governor's Award for Historic Preservation in 2012 and was also the only preservation project in that state ever to win the Save Our History grant from the History Channel.
